The service charges as set forth and contained in the following Schedule of Charges are deemed to be reasonable related to the administration of the Municipal Matrimony Bureau and its delivery of services. The Schedule is authorized and approved.
Schedule of Charges - Municipal Matrimony Bureau
The users of services administered and provided by the Municipal Matrimony Bureau will be charged a standard service charge based upon the list herein provided. The payment by the users will support the following:
I. Standard Ceremony of Solemnization. Performance of the solemnization by the proper municipal officer authorized pursuant to Indiana Code, § 31-7-5-1, at the premises of the municipal building during regular business hours which includes:
(i) a pre-solemnization meeting at which the user(s) deliver the wedding license as issued by the proper authority pursuant to Indiana Code, § 31-7-5-1, to the Clerk-Treasurer;
(ii) authorization and selection of vows and ceremony, and delivery to the users five (5) copies of the vows in pamphlet form; and
(iii) preparation of the license and forms including posting by USPS the completed and certified license to be mailed to the Circuit Court Clerk as the issuing authority.
II. Additional Charges. The bureau may charge and collect charges for the additional services pursuant to the schedule of charges outlined. Such charges will be in addition to the standard ceremony charge to be paid by users of the services of the bureau.
Service Charges:
Standard Ceremony $25.00
Plus the additional charges in addition to the standard ceremony for the following services described:
Service performed on weekend or after regular business hours $12.50
Service performed away from the municipal building premises:
in the municipality $10.00
out of the municipality $25.00
For each additional copy of the vows booklet $ 1.00
In order to reserve a date for the services, the Bureau shall charge and collect a scheduling and administration fee, which shall serve as a non-refundable deposit. The scheduling and administration fee shall be applied to the credit for all fees which may be charged to users pursuant to this ordinance. However, if the user cancels without reasonable notice, the Scheduling and Administration fee may be charged as non-refundable, and deducted from the balance of any refund applied for the user.
Scheduling and Administration Fee (Deposit) $10.00
If the Clerk-Treasurer cancels for any reason, the non-refundability of the fee will be waived and all charges will be refunded upon proper application.
