Any person, persons, partnership, firm or corporation making an excavation in or underneath the surface of a street or public place in the Town of Schererville, Indiana, shall erect and place suitable warning barriers, signs, lights, and post flag men during working hours in conformance with the Indiana Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices at or near the excavation in such a manner as to prevent damage to persons and property that might otherwise result from or be caused by the presence of such excavation. The applicant shall at all times keep a copy of the permit at the job site.
