a. The Town Council, in its sole discretion, may authorize the Town to contribute a sum, up to, but not to exceed fifty percent (50%) of the cost to repair or replace a declared dangerous or defective sidewalk and/or driveway. This contribution may take the form of an outright grant or a loan under the terms and conditions as determined by the Town Council in their sound discretion provided they comply with Indiana law.
b. The Town Council may in its discretion appropriate and spend up to ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) each year in a fund designated for the maintenance and repair of sidewalks and driveways in the Town of Schererville. This amount is intended to encompass any form of contribution, whether it take the form of a grant, a loan, or any other type of contribution.
