a. As used in this Division the word "peddler" and "hawker" shall mean a salesman, trader or any person who carries an exhibit in any manner and products, goods, wares, or merchandise of any kind for the purpose of selling or offering for sale barter or exchange any product, goods, wares or merchandise of any kind or description whatsoever, traveling by foot, vehicle or other conveyance, from place to place, from house to house, or in, about, along or upon any street, alley or highway, or any other grounds in the Town of Schererville, Lake County, Indiana.
b. The word "solicitor" and/or "canvasser" shall include any person taking or attempting to take orders for the sale of products, goods, wares and merchandise of any kind or description whatsoever, for future delivery, or for services to be furnished or performed in the future, whether or not such person has, carries or exposes for sale a sample of the subject of such sale or whether he is collecting advance payment on such sales or not, traveling by foot or any type of conveyance, from place to place, from house to house, or in, along, about, any street or place within the corporate limits of the Town of Schererville, Lake County, Indiana. "Solicitor" shall include, but not be limited to those soliciting the taking of photographs.

c. The word "Fundraiser" shall apply to any person requesting cash donations or product in lieu of cash, by traveling by foot, vehicle, or other conveyance from place to place, from house to house, or in, about, along, or upon any street, alley, or highway, or any other grounds in the Town of Schererville, Lake County, Indiana.

d. For the purpose of this Division, a transient merchant is defined as any person, firm or corporation, whether a resident of the Town of Schererville or not, who engages in a temporary business or itinerant business of selling and delivering goods or products of any kind within the said Town of Schererville, and who, in furtherance of said purpose, hires, leases, uses or occupies any building, structure, vehicle, room, shop or other place within the said Town, for the exhibition and sale of such products, goods, wares, and merchandise.
e. The word "person" as used herein shall include the singular and plural and shall also mean and include any person, firm or partnership, or society or any entity organization.
