Sec. 4-69 Application for Permit.
   a.   Every alarm user shall file with the Clerk-Treasurer of the Town, an application for permit to install, maintain and operate an alarm system in the Town.
   b.   The alarm user applying for the permit shall complete an application form as provided and prescribed by the Departments of Police and Fire. Every permittee shall update any material change in the information provided in the application whenever such change occurs.
   c.   The information contained in the application as required by this ordinance and other information received by the Chief of Police through correspondence or communications with an alarm user shall be secured, maintained and restricted in its inspection and review to the Chief of Police and to employees of the town specifically assigned the responsibility for handling and processing alarm user permit applications. Town employees and others assigned the duty to handle and process this information shall not knowingly or willfully reveal the information to any person other than for the purpose specifically related to this ordinance or specifically related to official law enforcement matters without the express written consent of the alarm user.
   d.   Upon receipt of the application for permit, the Clerk-Treasurer shall distribute the basic information therein to the building inspector, police chief and fire chief. Each such person shall make such inspection and inquiry as is reasonable and necessary to determine that the equipment complies with industry standards and that the alarm equipment supplier has secured a business license and other permits required by the Town of Schererville and the State of Indiana. Each such person shall notify the Clerk-Treasurer within seven (7) days of his approval or rejection of the application, and if rejected, shall state specifically in writing the basis for his objection. If all such persons approve the application, the clerk-treasurer shall issue the permit.
   e.   Upon receipt of the updated material change, the applicant shall file a new application which shall be processed in the same manner provided for an initial application and in conformity with other provisions of this ordinance.
