Sec. 2-394 Petty Cash Fund for the Police Department.
   a.   A Petty Cash Fund is established within the Police Department of the Town of Schererville, Lake County, Indiana. In establishing the Petty Cash Fund, the Police Department shall establish and maintain all statutory and proper procedures for the transfer, use and expenditures of monies from said Petty Cash Fund. (Ord. No. 989, § 1, 10-9-85)
      1.   Further, the established Town Metropolitan Police Department Petty Cash Fund shall be drawn on an appropriate fund of the Town as determined by the Town Council. The Town Police Department Petty Cash Fund shall be maintained and administered in conformance with requirements of Indiana Code § 36-1-8-2, as well as the rules, regulation and requirements of the Indiana State Board of Accounts, as each are amended from time to time.       2.   The Chief of the Town Metropolitan Police Department shall designate a Custodian of the Town Police Department Petty Cash Fund, which Custodian shall use the Town Police Department Petty Cash Fund to pay for small and/or emergency items of operating expense. Further, the Custodian of the Town Police Department Petty Cash Fund shall create and/or supply receipt for each expenditure made therefrom, and shall account for it in the same manner as is required for other funds of the Town.       3.   The Town Police Department Petty Cash Fund established and updated by this section shall be maintained with a balance of one hundred dollars ($100.00). The designated Custodian of the Town Police Department Petty Cash Fund shall file a voucher each month, with all original receipts totaling the cash claimed expended being attached to said voucher, so that the Town Police Department Petty Cash Fund can be reimbursed for expenditures made from it. Reimbursement must be approved and made in the same manner as is required for other expenditures of the Town. (Ord. No. 1967, § 3, 5-12-21)
   b.   The Clerk-Treasurer of the Town is authorized and required to transfer the necessary funds to said Petty Cash Fund of the Police Department of the Town to effectuate the purposes required for said Petty Cash Fund, pursuant to statutory requirements. (Ord. No. 989, § 2, 10-9-85)
