1. Booting of motor vehicles in the Town is hereby prohibited, as set forth hereinafter.
2. The following definitions shall apply to this section prohibiting the booting of motor vehicles in the Town, unless content clearly indicates or requires a different meaning, namely:
A. BOOT or BOOTING: The act of placing on a parked motor vehicle any mechanical devise that is designed to be attached to a wheel or tire or other part of such vehicle so as to prohibit the vehicle’s usual manner or movement. The term includes any installation, adjustment or removal of an immobilization devise.
B. COMMERCIAL PARKING LOT(S): A tract of land which is used for the parking of motor vehicles or any other lot which contains parking spaces in conformity with all city zoning and building requirements for parking spaces. Town property and right of way shall not be considered COMMERCIAL PARKING LOTS.
C. MOTOR VEHICLE: Every vehicle which is propelled by a motor.
3. In the interest of public safety, there shall be no placement of a boot upon any motor vehicle parked in any commercial parking lot in the Town. A boot installed shall be removed immediately for no charge from any motor vehicle if the vehicle is previously booted.
