Sec. 2-391 Equipment Fund for the Police Department.
   a.   There is established an Equipment Fund for the Police Department of the Town of Schererville.

   b.   Seventy five percent (75%) of all fees and monies collected pursuant to Ord. No. 1084 (Fees to register electronic or video games set forth in Chapter 4 of this Code), as amended from time to time, shall be deposited into said Equipment Fund for the Police Department of the Town of Schererville.

   c.   The Police Equipment Fund can be utilized for the following purposes:
      1.   The purchase of equipment related to the operation of the Schererville Police Department.
      2.   In the case of monies collected from application fees, which are placed into the equipment fund, the Chief of Police is authorized to utilize said funds for the payment of fees or costs which are generated through the application process for the Schererville Police Department. These fees and costs would include the cost of paperwork, testing, and any other costs associated with the initial hiring process.

      3.   In addition to the purposes set forward by ordinance, the Police Equipment Fund may be utilized for payment of expenses associated with the gun range in Griffith, Indiana.

      4.   The Police Equipment Fund may also be utilized for payment of any capital improvements to the Police facility.
