Sec. 2-139 Vacancy. 28

   a.   When a vacancy occurs in the position of Public Works Director, or when the Town Manager receives notice that a vacancy shall occur in said position, the Town Manager shall take whatever action it deems necessary and appropriate to fill such position. If, however, the Town Manager of the Town deems it in the best interest of the Town to leave said position vacant for whatever period of time it deems advisable and in the best interest of the Town, nothing contained herein shall require the appointment of a new Public Works Director to immediately fill such vacancy.

   b.   If a conflict arises between any of these provisions and its Personnel Policy, the Personnel Policy shall prevail.
