§ 12-701. Designation of Bicycle Lanes.
   (1)   A bicycle lane that requires the removal of a parking lane, a travel lane, or both, may be designated upon a street only when authorized by subsection (2) of this Section.
   (2)   The Department is authorized to designate a bicycle lane upon the following streets and regulate the operation and use of vehicles and bicycles upon such streets in a manner consistent with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) regulations:
      (a)   One buffered bicycle lane in each direction on Tyson Avenue from Roosevelt Boulevard to Frankford Avenue and the removal of a travel lane in each direction of that portion of Tyson Avenue. 24
      (b)   American Street, from Jefferson Street to Lehigh Avenue: One bicycle lane in each direction and the removal of a travel lane in each direction on that portion of American Street. 25
      (c)   Chestnut Street, eastbound, from South 45th Street to South 34th Street, and the removal of a travel lane in the same portion of Chestnut Street. 26
      (d)   Fifteenth Street, southbound, from Carpenter Street to Washington Avenue, a five (5)-foot wide bicycle lane, and the removal of a parking lane and partial travel lane in the same portion of Fifteenth Street. 27
      (e)   Race Street, eastbound, from North 8th Street to North 5th Street, and the removal of a travel lane on Race Street, eastbound, from North 8th Street to North 6th Street. 28
      (f)   Enterprise Avenue, entire length: One bicycle lane in each direction and the removal of one eastbound travel lane. 29
      (g)   Island Avenue, from Penrose Avenue to Enterprise Avenue: One bicycle lane in each direction and the removal of a travel lane in each direction on that portion of Island Avenue. 30
      (h)   Parkside Avenue, from North 53rd Street to Bryn Mawr Avenue: One bicycle lane in each direction and the removal of one travel lane in both directions. 31
      (i)   Lansdowne Drive, from Sweet Briar Drive to South Concourse Drive: One bicycle lane in each direction and the removal of parking on both sides of the roadway. 32
      (j)   South Concourse Drive, from Lansdowne Drive to 41st Street Drive: One bicycle lane in each direction and the removal of parking on both sides of the roadway. 33
      (k)   North 13th Street, west side, from Spring Garden Street to Buttonwood Street. 34
      (l)   North 10th Street, east side, from Spring Garden Street to Callowhill Street. 35
      (m)   Columbus Boulevard, from Dilworth Street to Swanson Street, and the removal of a parking lane on the same portion of Columbus Boulevard. 36
      (n)   Market Street, from North 15th Street to North 20th Street: One eastbound bicycle lane and the removal of one travel lane. 37
      (o)   John F. Kennedy Boulevard, from North 15th Street to North 20th Street: One westbound bicycle lane and the removal of one travel lane. 38
      (p)   Richmond Street, both sides, from Lewis Street to Berkshire Street, and the removal of a parking lane on each side of Richmond Street, within the same limits. 39
      (q)   Germantown Avenue, from North 2nd Street to Master Street: One bicycle lane in each direction, the removal of a parking lane on Germantown Avenue, from North 2nd Street to Girard Avenue, and the removal of a travel lane on Germantown Avenue, from 2nd Street to Thompson Street. 40
      (r)   North 2nd Street, from Wood Street to Race Street, and the removal of a travel lane on the same portion of North 2nd Street. 41
      (s)   Passyunk Avenue and Essington Avenue, from 61st Street to Bartram Avenue: One bicycle lane in each direction, and the removal of a parking lane within the same limits. 42
      (t)   South 49th Street, from Paschall Avenue to Grays Avenue: One bicycle lane in each direction and the removal of a parking lane, east side. 43
      (u)   Grays Avenue, from South 49th Street to Lindbergh Boulevard: One bicycle lane in each direction and the removal of a parking lane, south side. 44
      (v)   Lindbergh Boulevard, from Grays Avenue to Elmwood Avenue: One bicycle lane in each direction and the removal of a parking lane, south side. 45
      (w)   One buffered bike lane on the south side of Spruce Street from 2nd Street to 22nd Street and on the north side of Pine Street from Front Street to 18th Street, and, except for such blocks with dedicated left side motor-vehicle turning lanes, eight flexible delineator posts, or another form of an approved traffic control device, at the end of each block within 60 feet of the crosswalk. 46
      (x)   North 8th Street, southbound, from Vine Street to Race Street, and the removal of a travel lane on North 8th Street, southbound, from Vine Street to Race Street. 47
      (y)   Race Street, from North 5th Street to North 4th Street: One bicycle lane, and the removal of a parking lane within the same limits. 48
      (z)   North 13th Street, west side, from Spring Garden Street to Green Street. 49
      (aa)   Chestnut Street, eastbound, from South 63rd Street to South 45th Street: One bicycle lane, and the removal of a travel lane within the same limits. 50
      (bb)   West Market Street, from 34th Street to 30th Street: One bicycle lane in each direction, and the removal of a parking lane on West Market Street, south side, from 34th Street to 30th Street. 51
      (cc)   West Market street, from 20th street to 23rd street: One bicycle lane in each direction; the removal of a travel lane, westbound, within the same limits; the removal of a parking lane on the north side of the street on the 2200 block; and the removal of some parking on the north side of the 2000 and 2100 blocks. 52
      (dd)   Woodland Avenue, from The Woodlands driveway to VA Medical Center driveway: One bicycle lane in each direction, and the removal of a parking lane on the south side of the street within the same limits. 53
      (ee)   Lindbergh Boulevard, from 58th Street to 65th Street: One bicycle lane in each direction and the removal of a travel lane in each direction. 54
      (ff)   Grays Ferry Avenue, from 34th Street to Washington Avenue: One bicycle lane in each direction, and the removal of a parking lane on the south side of the street within the same limits. 55
      (gg)   Bartram Avenue, both sides, from 84th street to Essington avenue. 56
      (hh)   East Market Street, from 2nd street to 6th street: One bicycle lane in each direction, and the removal of a moving vehicle lane on each side of the street within the same limits. 57
      (ii)   North 2nd street, southbound, from Race street to Market street: One bicycle lane, and the removal of a travel lane within the same limits. 58
      (jj)   South 3rd street from South street to Market street: a bicycle lane, and the removal of a travel lane within the same limits. 58.1
      (kk)   One buffered bike lane on the south side of Maplewood avenue from Greene street to Wayne avenue, traveling westbound. 58.2
   (3)   Any bicycle lane that was designated prior to the date this Section became law may continue in existence until otherwise determined by the Department.
   (4)   Nothing in this Section shall preclude the establishment of a bicycle lane for a trial period, provided the establishment of such a bicycle lane is in accordance with the provisions of Section 12-203, relating to Emergency and Trial Regulations.
