9-1-1: FIRE DISTRICT:
The entire city is declared to be a fire district, including fire zones one, two and three, and the boundaries shall be illustrated on an official map to be maintained by the city building official and on file with the fire marshal. The boundaries of the fire districts shall be continued as previously established and depicted upon the official maps of the city maintained for such purpose. Whenever in any code or ordinance adopted by and in effect in the city the term "jurisdiction" shall be used, said term shall mean the jurisdictional limits of the city of Mitchell, South Dakota. 9-1-2: FIRE MARSHAL:
There shall be, within the fire department of the city department of fire and EMS, an employee classification of fire marshal, who shall be subject to the supervision in conformance with the city employee classification within the department of fire and EMS. Whenever in any code adopted by the city, or in any ordinance adopted and in effect in the city there shall be reference to the term fire official, or other term of like meaning, such term shall be construed to mean fire marshal as provided in this section.
