9-1-8: CERTAIN OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATIONS NOT EXEMPT:

Buildings with the occupancy classification of E (educational), H (high hazard), and I (institutional) under the fire code are not exempt. Provisions applicable to the above stated occupancy classifications within the fire code shall not supersede the provisions of state and/or federal regulations at any time in effect.
