Employees Generally
   EDITOR'S NOTE: Because of the frequency of change, provisions relating to regular compensation are not codified. Copies of the latest relevant legislation may be obtained, at cost, from the Clerk of Council.
   The City enters into Agreements, from time to time, with representatives of various classes of Municipal employees, which Agreements provide for compensation, benefits and other incidents of employment. The provisions of this chapter apply only to those persons and those subjects not otherwise provided for in such Agreements. Copies of the latest relevant legislation and Agreements may be obtained, at cost, from the Clerk of Council.

260.01 PRINCIPLES OF EMPLOYMENT.
   The employment of all personnel in the various departments of the City and all actions affecting such employees shall be based solely on merit, ability and justice, and, where applicable, shall be in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission of the City.
   There shall be no discrimination against employees or applicants for employment on account of race, creed, color, national origin, sex or any political or union affiliation.

260.02 RESIDENCE REQUIREMENT.
   All applicants for employment, temporary employees and/or probationary employees of each department shall comply with the residency requirements set forth in the City of London Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual.

260.03 COMPENSATION.
   Compensation for all employees shall be as set forth in the current compensation or salary ordinance.

260.04 BONDS.
   Officers and employees of the Municipality shall be bonded as follows:
   (a)   Faithful performance of duty blanket position bond in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000):
      (1)   Mayor;
      (2)   Safety-Service Director;
      (3)   Director of Law;
      (4)   Clerk of Council.

   (b)   Faithful performance of duty bonds:
      (1)   Auditor - ten thousand dollars ($10,000);
      (2)   Treasurer - ten thousand dollars ($10,000).

   (c)   Honesty blanket position bond in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000):
      All other City employees not specifically mentioned herein.
