Each employee of the City may have up to three days of paid leave to attend the funeral of a member of the employee's immediate family. Immediate family is defined as grandparents, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, father, mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, spouse, grandchild and legal guardian. Additional days may be granted by the department head if deemed necessary. Days used for funeral leave shall not be charged against accrued sick leave.
