SEC. 180.   OFFICIAL SIGNS OR MARKINGS DIRECTING TRAFFIC.
180.   OFFICIAL SIGNS OR MARKINGS DIRECTING TRAFFIC.Official signs or markings may be used directing traffic to use a designated lane or allocating specified lanes to traffic moving in the same direction and drivers of vehicles shall obey the directions of every such sign or marking.
SEC. 181.   ONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS.
181.   ONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS.Upon those streets and parts of those streets and in those alleys designated and sign-posted for one-way traffic, vehicles, except authorized emergency vehicles responding to an emergency call shall be driven only in the direction designated, upon those streets and alleys or portions thereof designated in Section 542 of this ordinance. SEC. 182.   LIMITATIONS ON OVERTAKING ON THE LEFT.
182.   LIMITATIONS ON OVERTAKING ON THE LEFT.A vehicle shall not be driven to the left side of the center of the street in overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction unless such left side is clearly visible and is free of oncoming traffic for a sufficient distance ahead to permit the overtaking and passing to be completely made without interfering with the safe operation of any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction or any vehicle overtaken. The overtaking vehicle shall return to the right-hand side of the street before coming within three hundred feet of a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction when traveling on a street having a legal speed limit in excess of thirty miles per hour, and the overtaking vehicle shall return to the right-hand side of the street before coming within one hundred feet of a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction when traveling on a street having a legal speed limit of thirty miles per hour or less. SEC. 183.   PROHIBITED PASSING.
183.   PROHIBITED PASSING.No vehicle shall in overtaking and passing another vehicle or at any other time be driven to the left side of the street under the following conditions:
   1.   When approaching the crest of the grade or upon a curve in the street where the driver's view along the street is obstructed for a distance of approximately seven hundred feet.
   2.   Except on one-way streets, when approaching within one hundred feet of any narrow bridge, viaduct or tunnel, when so sign-posted, or when approaching within one hundred feet of or traversing any intersection or railroad grade crossing.
   3.   When official signs are in place directing that traffic keep to the right or a distinctive line also directs traffic as declared in the sign manual adopted by the Department of Transportation.
