SEC. 514.   PENALTIES FOR MISDEMEANOR.514.   PENALTIES FOR MISDEMEANOR.
It is a misdemeanor for any person to do any act forbidden or to fail to perform any act required by any of the provisions of this ordinance unless any such violation is by this ordinance or other law of this State declared to be a serious or aggravated misdemeanor or a felony. Every person convicted of a simple misdemeanor for a violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance for which another penalty is not provided, shall be punished by a fine of not less than Sixty-five Dollars ($65.00) and no more than Six Hundred Twenty-five Dollars ($625.00) and/or by imprisonment for not more than thirty days. SEC. 515.   OFFENSES BY OWNERS.515.   OFFENSES BY OWNERS.
It is unlawful for the owner, or any other person, employing or otherwise directing the driver of any vehicle to require or knowingly to permit the operation of such vehicle upon a highway in any manner contrary to law. [Ref. Iowa Code §321.484]
