SEC. 10. DUTIES OF POLICE DEPARTMENT.

10.   DUTIES OF POLICE DEPARTMENT.It shall be the duty of the police department to enforce the street traffic regulations of this City and all the State Vehicle Laws applicable to street traffic in this City, to make arrests for traffic violations, to investigate accidents and to cooperate with the other officers of this City in the administration of the traffic laws and in developing ways and means to improve traffic conditions, and to carry out those duties specially imposed upon said police department by this ordinance. SEC. 11. RULES AND REGULATIONS.

11.   RULES AND REGULATIONS.The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to adopt and enforce such departmental rules and regulations governing procedure as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this code, and to carry out any other laws the enforcement of which is vested in the police department and not inconsistent with the laws of this state or ordinances of the city.

SEC. 12. TRAFFIC ACCIDENT STUDIES.

12.   TRAFFIC ACCIDENT STUDIES.Whenever the accidents at any particular location become numerous, the city shall conduct or cause to be made studies of such accidents and determine remedial measures. (Ord. #3256, 1/17/83)
