§ 19-304. Lost, Stolen, Destroyed or Mutilated Bonds, Coupons and Other Evidences of Indebtedness.
   (1)   If any bond, coupon or other evidence of indebtedness of the City is lost, stolen, destroyed or mutilated, the owner or his legal representative may apply to the Fiscal Agent of the City for the issuance and delivery of a duplicate. After the execution of an appropriate affidavit by the owner or his legal representative and delivery to the Fiscal Agent of such affidavit together with any such mutilated instrument, if no legal objection appears, the Fiscal Agent shall, subject to the provisions of subsection 19-304(2), issue a duplicate, appropriately identified as such. If any such bond, coupon or other evidence of indebtedness has matured or is about to mature, the Fiscal Agent may authorize payment thereof in lieu of issuing a duplicate.
   (2)   Before any duplicate bond, coupon or other evidence of indebtedness of the City is issued, the owner or his legal representative shall furnish to the Fiscal Agent an indemnity bond satisfactory to the Fiscal Agent and the Law Department indemnifying the City and the Fiscal Agent against any loss occasioned by or resulting from the reappearance of the original bond, coupon or other evidence of indebtedness and shall pay to the Fiscal Agent any costs incurred by the City or its Fiscal Agent in connection with the issuance of such duplicate or in connection with the making of such payment.
