PEDDLERS
It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of hawker or peddler, house to house solicitation of funds or subscriptions, or to publicly solicit either in person or by agent upon the public streets, sidewalks, or other public place in the city, subscriptions for charitable, religious, or education or other organizations or purposes, whether gifts of money or promises are sought, without having first filed with the City Clerk a corporate surety bond, wherein the surety is held and firmly bound unto the city, in the sum of $10,000, to ensure that should the principal herein named be guilty of any fraud, cheating, or misrepresentation while acting as a peddler/solicitor in the city, any citizen so defrauded or cheated may recover from the surety to the extent of his or her loss.

It shall be unlawful for any person to go upon the premises of another for the purpose of soliciting orders, selling, or peddling without the consent of or invitation of the owner or occupant. License holders are prohibited from approaching residences where a “No Solicitors” sign is displayed.
