ADOPTING ORDINANCES

ORDINANCE NO. 2, SERIES 2005

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF PARIS, ILLINOIS

   WHEREAS, American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio, has completed the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, which contains all ordinances of a general and permanent nature enacted by the City and assembled for the first time since the last Code of Ordinances for the City of Paris was prepared; and

   WHEREAS, American Legal Publishing Corporation has recommended the revision or addition of certain sections of the Code of Ordinances which are based on or make reference to sections of the Illinois Complied Statutes; and

   WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council to accept these updated sections in accordance with the changes of law in the State of Illinois.

   NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, ILLINOIS, as follows:

   SECTION 1:  That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Illinois, as submitted by the American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio, be and the same is hereby adopted as if set out in this section in its entirety.

   SECTION 2:  Such Code shall be deemed published as of the date of its adoption and approval by the City Council, and the Code of Ordinances shall be kept on file in the Office of the Paris City Clerk.

   I move the adoption of this Ordinance this 24th day of January, 2005.
