GENERAL PROVISIONS
Only persons who reside or are employed within the city shall be appointed as members of official boards and commissions by the Mayor and City Council.

Every appointive officer or employee of the city shall hold office for a term of 1 year or until his or her successor is appointed and qualified, unless otherwise provided by ordinance. Employees selected by a Commissioner shall serve so long as their services are needed by that Commissioner. Unless otherwise provided, the term of each office shall expire on the last day of April following the appointment.
