CITY TREASURER
§ 32.065 APPOINTMENT; SUPERVISION.
   The City Treasurer shall be appointed by the City Council as provided by statute and shall be under the supervision of the Commissioner of Accounts and Finances.

§ 32.066 BOND.
   The City Treasurer shall give bond in that sum as may be required by the City Council, but the bond shall not be less than 1½ times the amount of the estimated money that may be in his or her custody and not less than an amount in dollars equal to 3 times the latest federal census of the population of the city, whichever amount is greater, or as required by statute, with sureties to be approved by the City Council. The bond shall be conditioned upon the faithful performance by the Treasurer of his or her duties of office, and to indemnify the city for any loss due to any neglect of duty or wrongful act on the part of the Treasurer.

§ 32.067 DUTIES.
   The City Treasurer shall perform such duties as may be prescribed for him or her by statute or ordinance; he or she shall receive all money paid to the city, either directly from the person paying it or from the hands of such other officer as may receive it; and he or she shall pay out only on vouchers, warrants, or orders properly signed by the City Clerk and the Mayor.

§ 32.068 DEPOSIT OF CITY FUNDS; COMMINGLING PROHIBITED.
   The City Treasurer shall deposit the city funds in such depositories as may be selected from time to time as is provided by statute, and shall keep the city money separate and distinct from his or her own, and shall not intermingle his or her own money with it or make private or personal use of the city funds.

§ 32.069 RECORDS AND ACCOUNTS.
   (A)   The City Treasurer shall keep records showing all money received by him or her, the source from which it was received, and the purpose for which it was paid out; and he or she shall keep a record showing at all times the financial status of the city.
   (B)   The City Treasurer shall keep those books and accounts as may be required by the City Council; and he or she shall keep them in the manner required by law.

§ 32.070 PAYMENT OF WARRANTS.
   The City Treasurer shall pay out money in payment of all bills, for salaries or for any other purpose other than the retirement of principal or interest on bonds or tax anticipation warrants, only upon warrant signed by the Mayor and City Clerk as provided by statute. The warrants shall designate the items to be paid and the funds from which they are to be paid.
