Sec. 22.253. Creation of the Fund.
 
   There is hereby created a fund within the Police Department of the City of Los Angeles known as the Police Department Reports Trust Fund, hereinafter referred to in this article as the “Fund”.

Sec. 22.254. Purpose of the Fund.
 
   Such Fund shall be used as a trust fund for deposits of money by persons or organizations desiring to obtain reports or photographs on a credit basis.

Sec. 22.255. Deposit Required.
 
   Any person or organization desiring to obtain such reports or photographs on a credit basis shall submit a written request accompanied by a guarantee deposit equal to the estimated charges for three months. The Chief Accounting Employee is authorized to make a deposit of such guarantee deposit to the said trust fund.

Sec. 22.256. Credit.
 
   Credit is limited in any one month to one-third of the amount of the guarantee deposit. Payment for all bills submitted must be received within two months from the end of the month for which the person or organization is billed. If not paid within that time, the credit shall be discontinued until payment is received. In no event will credit be extended beyond the amount of the guarantee deposit.

Sec. 22.257. Termination of Credit.
 
   The Board of Police Commissioners is authorized to terminate the credit of any person or organization who fails to make payment within the required time. Upon such termination of credit, the Chief Accounting Employee is authorized to draw a demand against the trust fund in favor of Departmental Receipts for the payment of all unpaid charges.
