There is hereby created a department of City government to be known as the Community Development Department, hereinafter referred to as the “Department.”
Said Department shall be the successor to the Community Analysis Bureau, the Office of Urban Development, the Office of Training and Job Development, and the Office for the Aged (formerly located in the Office of the Mayor), and the City Demonstration Agency all of which are hereby abolished effective at such time as resources contained in the budget for their respective operations are transferred to the new Department by Council/Mayor action. The Department is authorized to commence transaction of business and to exercise powers under this chapter on the date established in Article 2.
