5-6-1: DOG AND CAT TAX:
   A.   Tax Required: Each person who owns or keeps a dog or cat within the village shall pay an annual tax to the village for each dog or cat he so owns or keeps. Such annual tax shall be three dollars ($3.00) for each such dog and cat and shall be payable annually each year to the village clerk.
   B.   Payment Of Tax: The tax provided in subsection A of this section shall be paid at the office of the village clerk. Upon payment of such tax, the village clerk shall issue a tag to the person paying such tax for each dog and cat on which such tax shall have been paid. The village clerk shall keep such records of the payment of the tax and the issuance of tags as he shall deem necessary and proper to reflect the actual receipt of the tax and the issuance of tags.
   C.   Use Of Taxes: All taxes collected under the provisions of this chapter shall be used for general corporate purposes. (Ord., 10-2-1950; amd. Ord., 4-14-1975)
   D.   Penalty: Any owner or keeper of a dog or cat within the village failing to pay the annual tax provided in this chapter shall be considered in violation hereof and shall be subject to a class A penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. 5-6-2: TAGS:
Tags shall be of metal imprinted with the words "Golf dog tax" or "Golf cat tax" and the year, and numbered serially. The shape of the tag shall be changed annually.
The owner or keeper of each dog or cat within the village shall provide said dog or cat with a collar or harness to which the tag issued in payment of the tax provided in this chapter shall be fastened. (Ord., 10-2-1950; amd. Ord., 4-14-1975; 1989 Code)
5-6-3: RABIES INOCULATION:
When paying the annual tax provided in this chapter, each owner or keeper of a dog or cat within the village shall furnish the village clerk with a certificate of a veterinarian to the effect that the dog or cat for which the tax is being paid has been inoculated with antirabies serum within the past year. This provision will be waived for dogs or cats less than three (3) months old. (Ord., 10-2-1950; amd. Ord., 4-14-1975)
