(A) Trash Containers To Be Provided: Every owner, tenant, lessee or occupant of every residential dwelling unit or place of business shall provide or cause to be provided at all times an approved trash container of sufficient number and capacity to accommodate and contain all trash generated and accumulated by occupants of the structure.
(B) Type Of Approved Containers:
1. Containers Used: Containers to be used for the pick up of garbage and rubbish shall be:
(a) Garbage bags not less than 1.4 mil gauge plastic, and not exceeding a total weight when filled of thirty five (35) pounds; or
(b) Tightly covered plastic or metal containers which are watertight, do not exceed thirty three (33) gallon capacity, and do not exceed a total weight when filled of thirty five (35) pounds, and lined with a special prepaid disposable garbage bag/liner. Said containers shall have secure handles for convenient lifting and carrying.
(c) One and one-half (11/2) yard dumpsters, approved by the village, for commercial accounts.
2. Recycling Bin: Eighteen (18) gallon container to be used for the pick up of recyclable materials made available through the village exclusively. (Ord. 425, 4-9-1981)
(A) No trash storage facilities shall be maintained within the front yard setback area, nor within a minimum of fifteen feet (15') of the side lot line.
(B) No trash receptacles shall be maintained in view or in plain sight except on collection days.
(C) For purposes of this section a "day" shall be defined as that period of time from sundown on the day preceding trash collection to sundown on the day of trash collection. (Ord. 425, 4-9-1981)
(A) No trash containers shall be placed within the limits of any street or alley but shall be kept by the adjacent property owner upon his own property.
(B) It shall be the duty of all persons occupying or controlling any residential dwelling unit to place trash containers at the curb line of the premises on the day of collection.
(C) All trash containers shall be stored and maintained in a neat manner complementary to the area and the neighborhood. (Ord. 425, 4-9-1981)
(A) It shall be unlawful for any person, other than the owner, occupant or members of their families, the owner's agent, or the village to deposit, remove, deface, destroy, or disturb trash containers, recycling containers, or bulky wastes.
(B) From time of placement of recyclables at the curb or in recycling drop boxes for collection in accordance with the terms hereof, items shall be and become the property of the village or its authorized agent. It shall be a violation of this chapter for any person not authorized by the village to collect or pick up or cause to be collected or picked up any such items. Any and each such collection in violation hereof from one or more locations shall constitute a separate and distinct offense punishable as hereinafter provided. (Ord. 425, 4-9-1981)
(A) It shall be unlawful for any person to sweep or deposit any refuse or litter in any public place or public way except in public trash containers provided for such purposes. Persons owning or occupying property shall keep the sidewalk and any right of way bordering their property free of litter.
(B) It shall be unlawful for any person to deposit any residential refuse in any public place or public trash container.
(C) It shall be unlawful for any person to place or maintain paper, litter, excelsior, garbage, trash or rubbish of any kind whatever in open deposits on the ground or in open containers which do not meet the requirements of this chapter.
(D) It shall be unlawful to use any nonapproved container in violation of the provisions of this chapter. Such containers may be confiscated and disposed of by the village.
(E) It shall be unlawful for any person to place or maintain garbage, rubbish, recyclables or trash for curbside collection in violation of this chapter.
(F) It shall be unlawful for any person to place or deposit residential refuse in any commercial container. (Ord. 425, 4-9-1981)
(A) No person shall throw, place, or deposit or cause to be deposited any garbage, refuse, litter, manure, carrion, dead animals, offal, putrid, or unwholesome substance, upon the margin, banks or into any stream or water, or another within the limits of the village.
(B) No person shall allow or permit any litter, other offensive substance, or noxious matter of any kind to run or fall from or out of any building or vehicle into or upon any street or public place, nor allow or permit such litter or other noxious matter to stand or remain on any ground or premises within the limits of the village.
