Open burning is defined by the lllinois Environmental Protection Agency and the Illinois Pollution Control Board is hereby prohibited for all garbage, rubbish, waste, Landscape. Waste, agricultural waste and commercial or trade waste except as provided by Section 6-8-1 of this Code and the mies and regulations of the Illinois Pollution Control Board and the Illinois Environmental Protections Agency regarding open burning.

Any garbage, refuse, trash, recyclables or yard waste generated by any residential dwelling unit and placed at the curb for collection shall be collected solely and exclusively by the village or its officially designated solid waste disposal contractor. (Ord. 425, 4-9-1981)
A violation of section 6-6-2-5, 6-6-2-6, 6-6-2-7, or 6-6-2-10 of this chapter is punishable by a minimum fine of one hundred dollars ($100.00) and a maximum fine of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for any subsequent offense. A violation of other sections of this chapter shall be punishable by a maximum fine of one hundred dollars ($100.00). (Ord. 425, 4-9-1981)
(A) Trash Containers To Be Provided: Every owner, tenant, lessee or occupant of every residential dwelling unit or place of business shall provide or cause to be provided at all times an approved trash container of sufficient number and capacity to accommodate and contain all trash generated and accumulated by occupants of the structure.
(B) Type Of Approved Containers:
1. Containers Used: Containers to be used for the pick up of garbage and rubbish shall be:
(a) Garbage bags not less than 1.4 mil gauge plastic, and not exceeding a total weight when filled of thirty five (35) pounds; or
(b) Tightly covered plastic or metal containers which are watertight, do not exceed thirty three (33) gallon capacity, and do not exceed a total weight when filled of thirty five (35) pounds, and lined with a special prepaid disposable garbage bag/liner. Said containers shall have secure handles for convenient lifting and carrying.
(c) One and one-half (11/2) yard dumpsters, approved by the village, for commercial accounts.
2. Recycling Bin: Eighteen (18) gallon container to be used for the pick up of recyclable materials made available through the village exclusively. (Ord. 425, 4-9-1981)
(A) No trash storage facilities shall be maintained within the front yard setback area, nor within a minimum of fifteen feet (15') of the side lot line.
(B) No trash receptacles shall be maintained in view or in plain sight except on collection days.
(C) For purposes of this section a "day" shall be defined as that period of time from sundown on the day preceding trash collection to sundown on the day of trash collection. (Ord. 425, 4-9-1981)
