§ 309.05 Filing and Drawing Street Profiles
   Profiles of the streets to be dedicated, showing existing surface elevation and proposed grades of such streets, shall be filed with the Commissioner of Engineering and Construction. Profiles shall be made upon cross section tracing cloth to the scale of one (1) inch horizontal equals one hundred (100) feet and one (1) inch vertical equals ten (10) feet. When required by the Platting Commissioner a topographical map of the territory to be allotted shall be furnished in addition to the street profiles.

§ 309.06 Certificate of Title to Dedicated Lands
   An abstract or certificate of title, meeting the approval of the Director of Law, of the lands to be dedicated, shall be furnished to the City to become its property.

§ 309.07 Reserve Strips
   No plat or map of a proposed street or allotment showing reserve strips controlling access to public ways, or showing strips of land which will not prove taxable for special improvements, will be approved. However, such reserve strips may be shown when the control and disposal of land comprising such strips are definitely placed with the City under conditions meeting the approval of the Platting Commissioner and the Director of Law.

§ 309.08 Street Locations and Widths
   The location and widths of proposed streets shall be such as to fit in with any plan of street development adopted by the Planning Commission. Due regard shall be given to existing streets or streets capable of being established in surrounding property so that streets may be laid out through adjacent or neighboring allotments with reasonable continuity of location and width.

§ 309.09 Minimum Street Widths; Use of Alleys
   The minimum width of any proposed street shall be fifty (50) feet between property lines, provided that in the subdivision of the property a minimum depth of lots of one hundred (100) feet can be obtained. In narrow parcels alongside of developed property, or where less width would be required in order to secure lots one hundred (100) feet in depth, a narrower street may be permitted upon the approval of the Planning Commission. Alleys, meaning streets less than twenty (20) feet in width, may be laid out in the rear of lots fronting on an adjoining street when such lots do not exceed one hundred fifty (150) feet in depth. At the intersection of streets the rounding of corners may be required.

§ 309.10 Use of Intersecting Streets
   Where practical, an intersecting street shall be provided, so that no block will be longer than 1,000 feet.

§ 309.11 Continuation of Existing Streets in New Allotments
   In order that proposed streets may be so nearly coterminus as possible with existing streets in adjoining allotments, due provision shall be made for the direct continuation of all existing streets which extend to the boundaries of a proposed allotment. In case of adjacent allotments, separated by existing thoroughfares, due provisions shall be made for continuing, in a practical manner, such of the existing streets through the proposed allotment as may be necessary for public requirements, subject to the approval of Council, and provided that in cases where there is a departure from the direct continuation of such streets, Council shall be advised thereof in writing by the Platting Commissioner, prior to the approval of the plat by Council.

§ 309.12 Increased Street-Width Requirements
   The Platting Commissioner may require wider streets than fifty (50) feet, whenever in his or her judgment, provisions for public travel make the wider street desirable, or wherever any general plan of street development adopted by the Planning Commission requires the establishment of streets of greater width. In general, streets of not less than one hundred (100) feet wide may be required at intervals not greater than six thousand (6,000) feet, and streets not less than eighty (80) feet wide, at intervals not greater than three thousand (3,000) feet.

§ 309.13 Use of Dead-End Streets
   No so called dead-ended streets will be approved for dedication except where physical conditions make the extension of such a street impractical. In such cases a dead-end street may be approved, provided that adequate turning space for vehicles is placed at the dead-end.
   Turning spaces shall be of sufficient size to provide for a paved circular space of at least sixty (60) feet in diameter, or of a rectangular space twenty-five (25) feet wide and eighty (80) feet long, having its eighty (80) foot dimension placed symmetrically perpendicular to the line of the street, both of such spaces being exclusive of any sidewalk space.
