ARTICLE VIII. PRECIOUS METAL DEALERS
Sec. 9-400. Police authority regarding criminal history information for applicants for precious metal and special precious metal permits and employees working for dealers required to obtain precious metal permits.
(a)   The police department shall be authorized to seek state access to SBI/DCI Criminal History Record information to obtain criminal history information on all persons applying for a precious metal permits and special precious metal permits so as to assist the chief of police or his designee in determine the suitability of each applicant.
(b)   The police department shall be authorized to seek state access to SBI/DCI Criminal History Record Information to conduct criminal background checks for all employees of dealers required to obtain a precious metal permits in accordance with N.C.G.S. § 66-165 or as amended so as to assist the chief of police or his designee in determine the suitability of each employee.
