Sec. 5-1. Burials prohibited except in specified cemeteries.
No human body shall be buried within the corporate limits of the city except in established cemeteries licensed by the state cemetery commission or in church cemeteries. Violation of this ordinance is a misdemeanor as set forth in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 14-4.

Sec. 5-2. Excavations.
No person shall excavate any earth in any cemetery or remove any earth therefrom, except by the consent or under the direction of the city council or of some other officer legally authorized in the premises. Violation of this ordinance is a misdemeanor as set forth in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 14-4.
