ELECTION OF CITY OFFICERS

1-16-1: CITY CLERK:
The city clerk shall be elected for a four (4) year term and shall serve until his successor is elected and qualified as is provided under Illinois law and subject to the provisions of the city code for the city. (Ord. 16/80, 4-6-1981)
1-16-2: CITY TREASURER:
The city treasurer shall be elected for a four (4) year term and shall serve until his successor is elected and qualified as is provided under Illinois law and subject to the provisions of the city code for the city. (Ord. 16/80, 4-6-1981)
1-16-3: TERM OF OFFICE:
The term of office for each city council member, mayor, city clerk, and city treasurer shall begin on the date as hereinafter defined. Each member of the city council, the mayor, city clerk and city treasurer duly elected to any of the aforesaid offices pursuant to the provisions of Illinois law during April of any particular election year shall begin his term for that respective office in question at the start of the first regular or special meeting, whichever shall first occur, held in the month following the date of the election. Each of the foregoing elected city officials shall serve in his respective capacity until his successor is elected and has qualified under Illinois law and subject to the provisions of this code for the city.
