(a) In accordance with Ohio R.C. 733.262 there is hereby created the position of Village Fiscal Officer effective January 1, 2012.
(b) The Village Fiscal Officer shall have those powers, duties and functions as provided by the general laws of the State of Ohio; and in addition other duties consistent with the nature of the office that are provided for by Village ordinance.
(c) The elected position of Village Clerk-Treasurer is eliminated pursuant to Ohio R.C. 733.262 so that no election for the office of Village Clerk-Treasurer is held after the passage of this section. (Ord. 9-2011. Passed 4-11-11.)
The Fiscal Officer is hereby authorized to invest funds and purchase Certificates of Deposit. Certificates of Deposit shall be transacted through commercial banks or savings and loans with FDIC or FSLIC coverage which are located within the State of Ohio and qualify as eligible financial institutions under Ohio R.C., Chapter 135.
