3-14-1: DEFINITIONS:
For the purposes of this chapter, the following words shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them:
COMMERCIAL FILMING: The film, electronic, magnetic, digital, or other recording of a moving image by a person, business, or other entity for a market audience with the intent of generating income. Examples include, but are not limited to, feature film, videography, television broadcast, documentary, or other similar projects. Commercial filming activities may include the advertisement of a product or service, or the use of actors, models, sets, or props.
COMMERCIAL FILMING PERMIT: A permit authorizing a person, business, or other entity to engage in commercial filming activities within the Village of Woodridge. (Ord. 2021-32, 10-21-2021)
3-14-2: PERMIT REQUIRED:
No person, business, or entity shall conduct commercial filming activities without first obtaining a valid permit from the Village of Woodridge. Commercial filming activities performed without permit may be ordered to stop by the Village Administrator or their designee. (Ord. 2021-32, 10-21-2021)
3-14-3: EXEMPTIONS:
Filming for news broadcasts, live coverage by members of the media, and most student productions typically does not require a permit. Those who believe they qualify to undertake commercial filming activities without a permit should first contact Village Staff for clarification. (Ord. 2021-32, 10-21-2021)
