The clearance above ground for such signs shall be not less than nine feet (9'), or fourteen feet (14') if there will be vehicular access below them; provided:
A. Where there is no pedestrian access below a wall sign, there shall be no clearance requirement;
B. No sign shall extend below the bottom level of a canopy to which the sign is attached; provided, however, that a nonflashing identification sign of not more than four (4) square feet in area and having a clearance of eight feet (8') above ground level shall be permitted to hang below a canopy to identify the entrance to and name of each business covered by the canopy.
