6.04.010: APPOINTMENT; DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A.   The city shall have an animal control officer who is an employee of the city under the administrative supervision of the police department.
B.   The animal control officer shall have and possess such duties and responsibilities and such powers as granted by this chapter, and such additional powers and authority as may be otherwise provided by law. (Ord. 770 §1, 1995: Ord. 372, 1974)
6.04.060: QUALIFICATIONS:
The position of animal control officer shall be filled by any qualified applicant, and the appointment shall be based on qualification, training and experience in the handling of animals, and other essential qualifications regarding supervisory ability, care and maintenance of records and equipment, and such other guidelines established by the city council in the care, handling and humane treatment of animals.
