§ 1430.01 REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
   No general building contractor or plumbing, electrical, HVAC and refrigeration, fire alarm or fire suppression, cement or asphalt paving, masonry, excavating, sewer installer, carpentry, roofing, insulation, siding installer or demolition, fence, swimming pool, waterproofing, windows and door, tree service, 3-party utilities, sign installers, low voltage electric, or landscaping contractor shall perform any work in the city without first obtaining a certificate of registration from the Chief Building Official. Additional trades shall be required to register at the discretion of the Chief Building Official.

§ 1430.02 APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE; QUALIFICATION; SUSPENSION.
   (a)   Application for a certificate of registration shall be upon a form issued by the Chief Building Official. Such application shall be granted if the Chief Building Official finds that the applicant is qualified to perform the work for which the application is sought.
   (b)   Evidence of repeated violations of this Building Code or other ordinances shall be sufficient to disqualify the applicant from receiving the certificate of registration.
   (c)   Should the Chief Building Official determine that a person to whom a certificate of registration has been issued has failed to complete items listed on a temporary occupancy permit for the construction of a residential dwelling, as specified in § 1424.06, within 30 days of the issuance of the temporary occupancy permit, weather permitting, the Chief Building Official shall suspend the registration of the contractor to perform any additional new construction within the city. The suspension shall remain in effect until the incomplete items on the temporary occupancy permit have been corrected or completed and an occupancy permit has been issued for the residential dwelling pursuant to § 1424.06.
