   145.021 MAXIMUM AGE.
   The maximum age limitation set forth in Ohio Revised Code 124.41 for original appointment to the Norwalk Police Department is abolished.

   145.03 GENERAL DUTIES.
   The police force shall preserve the peace, protect persons and property and obey and enforce all ordinances of the City and all criminal laws of the State and of the United States, and perform such other duties as Council by ordinance may prescribe. The Police Department shall be maintained under the civil service system, as provided by law.

   145.04 DUTIES OF CHIEF OF POLICE.
   The Police Chief shall regulate the operations of the Police Department and shall prescribe the uniforms and equipment to be worn by the members of the force.

   145.05 CLASSIFICATION.
   The Director of Public Service and Safety shall classify the service in the Police Department in conformity with the ordinances of Council determining the number of persons to be employed therein and shall make all rules for the regulation and discipline of the members of the Police Department, except as otherwise provided by law.

   145.06 EMERGENCY PATROL OFFICERS.
   In case of riot or other like emergency or critical shortage of manpower, the Mayor may appoint additional patrol officers and officers for temporary service, who need not be in the classified list of the Police Department.
