§ 31.04 STREET COMMISSIONER.
   (A)   The office of Street Commissioner is created. (Ord. passed 1-2-22)
   (B)   It is the duty of the Street Commissioner to have charge of, and supervise under the direction of the Committee on Public Works of the Common Council, all work upon the streets, alleys, sewers, levees, and other public places of the city; to supervise under the direction of such committee the cleaning, repairing, and improvement of the streets, alleys, levees, and other public places of the city; to supervise, under the direction of the Committee on Public Works, excavations required for the laying of water mains, gas mains, or any other kind of excavation in the streets, alleys, levees, or any other public places of the city and refilling such trenches; to make out a concise, definite payroll of all laborers employed, under his supervision, setting forth the number and name of such laborers employed, the time made by each and the amount due to each laborer; the payroll to be termed Street Commissioner's payroll.
