Sec. 22.272. Authorization to Make Services Available.
 
   The Board of Police Commissioners may authorize the Police Department to furnish the following services to private individuals upon written application therefor:
 
   (a)   Search of Department records to ascertain whether the applicant has a record of arrest or conviction;
 
   (b)   Fingerprinting the applicant and transmitting copies of the same to such persons or governmental agencies approved by the Board as the applicant may request.

Sec. 22.273. Application for Services.
 
   Such applications shall be made upon forms provided and in accordance with any rules or regulations adopted therefor by the Board.

Sec. 22.274. Rules and Regulations Adopted.
 
   The Board may adopt such reasonable rules and regulations as it determines are necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this article.

Sec. 22.275. Fee Schedules.
 
   The Board shall establish a schedule of fees for the services rendered under this article. The amount of such fees shall be based upon the cost to the Department of the services rendered.

Sec. 22.276. Criminal Records not “Public Records”.
 
   The provisions of this article shall not be construed or interpreted as making or intending to make any criminal records in the possession of the Department public record.

Sec. 22.277. Fee for Storage of Guns by Persons Subject to Domestic Violence Protective Orders.
 
   Any person subject to a domestic violence protective order who is required by state law to sell any firearm in the person’s possession or relinquish such firearm to a local police agency for storage while the protective order is in effect shall be charged a fee of $107.00 per firearm for storage by the Los Angeles Police Department.
