   1501.01 CODE ADOPTED; INTENT AND PURPOSE.
   Pursuant to the provisions of Ohio R.C. 731.231, the current edition of the BOCA Basic Fire Prevention Code, as revised or amended, promulgated by Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc., is hereby adopted by the City and incorporated by reference as if fully set out herein. The purpose of the Fire Prevention Code, as adopted herein, is to prescribe regulations consistent with nationally recognized good practice for the safeguarding, to a reasonable degree, of life and property from the hazards of fire and explosion arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, material and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in use or occupancy of buildings or premises. Compliance with standards of Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc. (BOCA), shall be deemed to be prima-facie evidence of compliance with this intent.
   (a)   Pursuant to O.R.C. 731.231, there is hereby adopted by the Municipality the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 25, "Standard for the Inspection Testing and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems," as updated, as a standard for the inspection, testing and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems.
   (b)   "Ohio Fire Code" as used in this Part Fifteen - Fire Prevention Code refers to all standards adopted under this section. (Ord. 1995-45. Passed 12-12-95.)
