1501.16 REMOVAL OF ABANDONED UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS FOR FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS.
   (a)   Underground storage tanks used for the storage of flammable liquids which are inoperative or abandoned, shall be immediately put in a "temporary out of service" condition.
   (b)   Tanks rendered "temporarily out of service" shall have the fill line, gauge opening and pump section capped and secured against tampering.
   (c)   Underground storage tanks used for the storage of flammable liquids which have been inoperative or abandoned for a period of at least one year shall be removed from the around and the excavation filled, to the satisfaction of the Fire Prevention Bureau.
   (d)   Underground storage tanks used for the storage of flammable liquids on premises that shall be converted to an occupancy not utilizing such tanks, shall be removed from the ground and the excavation filled, to the satisfaction of the Fire Prevention Bureau.
   (e)   Following removal from the ground, such tanks shall be taken from the premises immediately. (Ord. 1995-45. Passed 12-12-95.)
