SECTION 1. TERM OF OFFICE.

The Mayor shall be elected for a term of four (4) years commencing on the first day of January after his or her election. No person shall serve as Mayor for more than three (3) consecutive terms of office. Terms shall be considered consecutive unless separated by a period of four (4) or more years.
