§ 32.12 CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
   (A)   Responsibilities of the position.
      (1)   Enforces minimum housing standards, animal control ordinances, and other sections of the city codes as designated by the department head with concurrence of the City Manager.
      (2)   Serves as liaison to the Hamilton County Board of Health and the S.P.C.A.
   (B)   Duties of the job.
      (1)   Inspects city to assure minimum housing standards are met, issuing citations when necessary to enforce compliance.
      (2)   Captures and impounds animals found at large in the city, citing owner(s) when necessary to enforce city's leash laws.
      (3)   Enforces other sections of city codes as assigned by the department head with concurrence of the City Manager.
      (4)   Attends Mayor's Court and meetings of City Council and other agencies as required.
      (5)   Performs related work as required.
      (6)   Prepares periodic reports as directed by the department head.
   (C)   Essential knowledge, abilities, and skills.
      (1)   Ability to understand housing standards and other applicable city codes.
      (2)   Ability to prepare reports involving presentation and analysis of data.
      (3)   Ability to deal with, and interface with people in a positive friendly manner.
      (4)   Ability to maintain accurate records.
      (5)   Ability to work variable hours.
      (6)   Ability to deal effectively with animals.
   (D)   Minimum required experience and training.
      (1)   High school education or equivalent.
      (2)   Ability to secure a driver's license from the State of Ohio.
