A. Appointment: There is hereby created the Department of Public Works for the city. The Director of Public Works shall be appointed by the PWA and his appointment shall continue during good behavior and satisfactory service.
B. Maintenance And Operation: The Director shall have charge of the maintenance and operation of all municipal utilities and perform such duties in connection therewith as are required of him by the PWA.
C. Incurring Expenditures: The Director shall have no power to incur any expenditures, unless the same shall be authorized and approved by the PWA. (1991 Code § 1-40; amd. 2013 Code; Ord. 21-27, 7-13-2021)
Every residential inhabitant within the corporate limits of the city, and every commercial or business entity or enterprise who may practically do so shall secure all of its potable water requirements from the water system owned by the city, connect to the sanitary sewer system owned by the city, and not otherwise dispose of sewage, unless it is impossible or not feasible to do so, and utilize the solid waste collection and disposal system offered by the city.
