(a) City commissioners shall receive an annual salary in the amount of four thousand four hundred fifty dollars ($4,450.00), and the mayor shall receive an annual salary in the amount of seven thousand five hundred fifty dollars ($7,550.00)

(b) Commencing effective July 1, 1994, the salaries of city commissioners and the mayor shall be adjusted annually in accordance with KRS 83A.075, as may be amended from time to time, so as to allow automatic cost of living adjustments based on the purchasing power of the dollar, as computed by the state Department for Local Government.
