§ 14-5. Prohibited signs.
   (a)   No sign shall be placed in any public right-of-way or be attached to any public property, street light, or utility pole, except those signs erected and maintained pursuant to and in discharge of any governmental function, or required by law, ordinance or governmental regulation, or except those signs for which consent is given by the board of commissioners.
   (b)   Yard sale signs shall be no larger than twelve (12) inches by eighteen (18) inches and shall be attached to a stake no higher than thirty (30) inches, and must be free standing. Yard sale signs may be displayed in the yard or property of the individual or group holding the yard sale or may be placed on private property owned by another person with that person's consent. Any yard sale signs must be removed within twenty-four (24) hours of the end of the yard sale.
   (c)   The term "yard sale" for the purpose of this section shall mean the sale of furniture, household goods, articles of clothing and personal effects, and other related items by a person not already engaged in a lawful licensed business for the particular site of the sale within the limits of the city.
   (d)   Any violation of this section shall constitute a violation within the meaning of KRS 83A.065 and it shall be punishable by a fine as provided for therein. Each day that a violation of this section occurs shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.
