(A) The city hereby approves the establishment of a Sister City affiliation with the city of Lanzhou, Gansu Province, China and extends an invitation to the government and people of the city of Lanzhou to participate with Albuquerque as a Sister City for the purpose of creating mutual understanding and international good will.
(B) The Mayor hereby Is authorized to act as the official representative of the city in establishing a Sister City relationship with Lanzhou and that copies of this resolution shall be transmitted to the Mayor of the city of Lanzhou, Gansu Province, China and other official parties as appropriate.
(C) The Council fully supports inviting the Mayor of the City of Lanzhou and his delegation to the 1996 Albuquerque Founders Day celebration.
