(A) The city hereby extends an invitation to the government and the people of the city of Gijon, Spain to participate with Albuquerque in the “People to People Program” as its Sister City for the purpose of creating mutual understanding and international goodwill.
(B) The Mayor is hereby authorized to act as official representative of the city to carry out the “People to People Program” and that copies of this invitation shall be transmitted to the Mayor and City Council of the city of Gijon, Spain, the Town Affiliation Association of the U.S., Inc., and the Embassy of Spain.
