§ 3-8-14 QUIET ZONES
   (A)   It is the policy of the City that the owner/operator of railroad crossings within the City limits shall implement "Quiet Zones" within three years from the effective date of this resolution.
   (B)   Subsequent to the New Mexico Department of Transportation implementing "quiet zones" and when, pursuant to the City's Capital Improvements Program, a railroad crossing within the City limits is scheduled for construction, maintenance, rehabilitation or replacement, any improvements shall be consistent with the goal of creating a "Quiet Zone" at that crossing.
   (C)   The City shall coordinate and collaborate with the New Mexico Department of Transportation to implement this Quiet Zone policy.
   (D)   It shall be a City of Albuquerque, 2007 state legislative priority to pursue funding for Quiet Zones. The Administration, before the commencement of the 2007 New Mexico Legislature, shall coordinate with the New Mexico Department of Transportation to identify the expense to convert the rail crossings within the City limits, on the main north south rail line to Quiet Zones.
   (E)   The rail crossings at Candelaria Road, Claremont Avenue Menaul Boulevard and Lomas Boulevard shall have priority for creating Quiet Zones.
