   (A)   The city shall indemnify any city official to the extent of his or her attorney's fees for successful defense of charged violations of the provisions of the Code of Ethics before the Board. However, if the Board finds the official guilty of such a violation, the city shall not indemnify the official. Defense expenses that are indemnifiable are restricted to those incurred after the Board finds that charges are legally sufficient on their face.

   (C)   This policy is effective as to expenses incurred subsequent to the beginning of the Sixth Council.
